Just had a mate phone and offered me a stihl wood boss 028 Avs .it was his dads saw that he bought a few years ago and never used its still boxed and in as new condition ,pal wants me to make him an offer as he has no use for it ! What's a fair price as I cant find any new prices for thus saw and don't have a clue what its new equivalent model would be ! Oh and are they any good ??? Cheers Verdi

Hi, 028, a good solid mid sized saw imo, new in the box, would like it myself ! but then I like older saws. I would think that a more modern Stihl comparison might be an MS 260 perhaps, if you get it for a good price and don`t like it I`m sure you`d get your money back selling it on. Cheers

My dad got one recently from a customer that had it from new left in the shed, hardly used. Still has the original bar on it (marked made in west Germany!) very solid saw, personally I find it a bit sluggish in the cut, but then so was the 026/260. Wouldn't hesitate at £120 though

Bitten and eaten ! The chain is in a sealed bag, the bar has never been out of its packaging! Spark plug is still in the box ! Quite frankly ive never seen anything like the old boys shed ! Heaps of stuff mostly unused brand new tools !!! Like an aladins cave !
