I prefer the older non electronic stuff but you have throw the towel in at some point. The electrickery part is the biggest problem and it was causing problems here with all the different makes of vans. What I did was buy the full Ford diagnostic kit and am slowly moving over to the one make so that the one tool can scan/diagnose all we have. Its not a vehicle choice thing but because we already run a Ranger , couple of transits and a connect,it just makes sense not to be at the mercy of the main dealers.

I have a w reg landy and if I could have afforded a newer one, not been scared of buying into a shiny leak free thing then I would. All the money you spend in up keep, down time, IMO, is simply not worth it. You get to look at your business rsther than being constantly I it re sorting out knackered old parts which should be doing a job but all they do is fall off and cost you money. Old lanys an anagram for "buy newer Japanese....lol, god I wish I could
