A Day in the Park (Helmingham Hall)

Spent the day photographing my friend Matt doing a bit of tree cutting for the estate. 2 lightning struck oaks were first to be stripped, then up the other end to strip a dead oak, back to strip out another oak in serious decline. Then the finale was a horribly dead Oak up in the deer park.

David's great, sure he snapped some pics too, the trunks are to be felled after he's cleared the branchwood. The butts will then be felled at a later date. Got some vid footage, but my retarded editing skills are struggling to transfer to the correct format for youtube at the moment! Hopefully I'll get there soon.

What is the end use for the timber? Will the estate use it for anything other than the fire?

Hi andy the tree in the oak grove looks solid on your pics, i have not been out there yet i will take a look on sunday as tomoz i am in london. Matt climbed them trees then not too rotten?

Trees were sound, one left to do up the other end. Good bit of timber in the one felled. least you should have plenty of firewood:001_tongue:
