A Question for Unimog owners

I have a customer who is doing some repairs to a Unimog Transfer Box (sorry don't know which Mog it is) and has replaced the oil with the same industrial gear oil 220 they use in the winch systems this company builds. The oil is foaming up after about 20 mins use. What oil do people put in theirs? I was thinking an EP90 GL4 would be better but didn't know if they use a thinner oil like a UTTO.

Any help would be much appreciated

Jon

there is a constant ongoing debate about what oil to put in mog transmissions, the only constant is that it MUST be a GL4, and NOT GL5, syntrans, same oil as the engine(ex military), millars synth, the recomendation from mercedes is SAE 80W/85W
