Help needed cutting large limb!

It fell tip first towards the floor, hit the ground and sprung back up harpooning him and pinning his body to the tree.

 

 

 

If the limb is no twice its own length from the ground I would go out and cut small.

 

thanks for sharing, that isn't an obvious thing to expect, like a massive version of an archery bow

Fence panels are expendable, your back isn't, if they knew the tree was coming down why put a new fence up!!! At £20 ago price them in.

I had a big Lawson to remove - 2 options

 

(1) fell (across veg plot & sacrifice £30 worth of onions)

 

(2) climb, dismantle, rig it out avoiding veg plot.

 

You can imagine the cost difference between (1) & (2).

 

Customer chose (2)

Haven't read all the other comments but I'm sure many will have something to say.

 

For what it's worth I say go for it, you have to push the boundaries to expand your comfort zone. Once you've done it you will feel elated and that's how you push on to other things.

 

Take it slowly and whatever technique you decide to use remember the undercut as you don't want a big tear down the main trunk.
