you can't blame the lad for trying to display his new found knowledge however, let him know that he has still got a lot to learn and you are the boss. Sounds like you have the job sorted, get the work done Asap and keep your client happy.

Give the lad a playful beating for a couple of hours and ask him what his thoughts are on pruning during the summer months to allow the tree to respond to the damage imediatley as opposed to waiting until the onset of growth.

Get on with how you think it should be done and just have a quiet word with the lad. Like you say you could loose the work if not and that's not doing you or him any good. That's the trouble with college, it does not teach them about reality and life in the big bad world.

:congrats::congrats: Yet up to that point in life its all they know thanks to our modern full on educate, educate system, with young people working actually frowned upon and legally discouraged:thumbdown:
