Well that would be Gordon Brown - he didn't have much alternative did he :confused1: If he'd allowed HSBC, RBS etc to go under

then we'd all be kissing our cash goodbye

Exactly, I can't see how any UK political party could have done any different. It was a crisis of unregulated global capitalism - the Tories are cheerleaders for that.

 

It was Labour who deregulated our banking system.

 

Labours answer to unemployment is public sector jobs, thats like me employing my family in order to increase household income :001_rolleyes:

Thats true - sadly Gordon wanted to believe the banks, (after all they were alovely source of taxfor many years). He should have been wiser. No Uk governemnet has 'fixed the roof while the sun was shining'. Look at what Norway has done with its North Sea oil momey - we could have done much, much better.
