Iv just brought a 300 tdi hi cap myself like said already they can have a few issues but look how old they are mines 1997 P reg 20 years old seems mad to be buying such an old truck for work but, plan is leave the truckman top on as it's also doubles up as roof rack and convert it to a tipper and use it my off the Beaton track jobs

i bought a td5 a few weeks ago, it was solid and seemed great but had a dishonest MOT and had been clocked 50k, i had to take it back and received a full refund.
