Quite right, Jon boy! I have Robert Sorby drawknife. Great and proper old tools, hard as he'll. they don't make them that good anymore. The little animal in the logo is a kangaroo. This would probably have been made in Sorby's Kangaroo Works in the early 19th century.

looks like a cut-down dunse slasher for trimming back hedges etc.

We used similar slashers cut down like this for marking selective thinning with a blaze either side of the stem.
