Table top wanted

Hi all.

After viewing some of the things made on here I fancy a go myself.

I'm looking for a piece of elm or spalted beech large enough to make a coffee table. (around 1m in wide/length approx.)

Some of the timber on show here looks gorgeous so thought I would try my luck.

I'm up in the north east so ideally would need to be sent via courier unless close enough.

I've never done this before so all advice welcome. :blushing:

I'm a new member so wondered if this is something you guys could help me with?

Big j on here has some lovely pieces of elm and lots of it. I have used him plenty of times before and recommend him.

You're very kind :blushing:

I've loads of elm at the moment, but nothing a metre wide. Widest boards are about 65cm and 2 inches thick. Stacks of it, kiln dried.

Yeah I saw that earlier on.

Again great looking and I've played with beech before.

You have dining room table size boards (I only need a coffee table size at moment as trying this out)

What kind of price does a table size board command?

How long would it take to dry out properly?

Sorry as I said I'm a novice at best lol
