I have been using a thor splitter (not sure witch one as the label have warn off)for a number of years. Can't fault it, it has never broken down, and dispite a number of years use and misuse it keeps working. We are running off a 60 hp tractor, which will cope with most knots. Howevever it has been used on a 100hp tractor in the past which turned a good splitter into a brilliant one, that will cut through any knot without slowing down. My only quibble is because it is a vertical splitter that will split upto 45" lenghts, it is an ungainly beast to move around when it is off the 3 point linkage!

Happy splitting

Had 1 of these splitters for about 5 years now not a lot it wont split and very little break downs, only problem has been the cable from the handles down to the valves snapping at the clamp, local push bike shop can get you sorted if this happens.

Get the wider knife so it dont leave the anoying stringy bit at the bottom.
