It will probably do you for 12 months - I dont think they are designed for the abuse arborists give them.

We brought one cheap at the start of a contract and it gradually self imploded, ended up buying a transit 12 months later and sold the LDV for scrap . Lost £3k in a year as it had no resale value!!

i dont mind as long as it lasts 12 months , if it costs me 3k for a year im happy , much cheaper then leacing a truck , and i dont get charged for killing it ha ha ha ha

considering the ldv has the same engine and gearbox as the transit i dont see how anyone can say an ldv will blow up and a transit wont! the refinements are better on a transit, granted.....but value for money, unless you are particularly worried about resale value has to go to ldv.

Its difficult to drive down the road with just an engine and geerbox as everything else has dropped off or broken, and the chip ends up spilling all over the road! :001_tongue:

Ours wasn’t on the yard long enough for me to look under the bonnet. All I know, its was gutless and leaked oil.

My old one cost 2k in 2002 with 60k miles on it and M reg so about seven years old at the time. Now its (over)due to retire but still has only 102k miles on it. Most expensive MOT was 400 quid, twice, other MOT's were less than that, no other major expenses, no speeding tickets, no good if your late getting somewhere.

hiya guys i have just bought an x reg ldv 3.5 ton tipper , its in great condition and cab is verry clean . the only problem is that it is non turbo . i was just wondering if any of you have one or have had one . the reason i have bought it is because i am sick of transits , i currently have an 08 plate transit and im not impressed with it and will not be having another one !!

IMO a 3k tipper will do just what a 19 k tipper !!!

Any pics of the beast?

ha ha , like i said i currently have an 08 plate transit and that is already breaking , the tipper is tempermental , the clutch is fooked , the suspension is giving u the ghost and the breaks are really crap lol , so i guess driving an older bag of crap should be ok'ish lol

i dont think i ever want a brand new truck again , well at least for a while :001_tongue:

Why do we accept that its ok for arborists to abuse everything?

Its only woodchip and logs going in it, not as destructive as many builders materials can be.
