From the link above;

"two sections of rope to be run parallel in order to facilitate a friction hitch or a mechanical device to be secured around both parts simultaneously. this could be a single rope doubled over and secured to prevent

separation"

Does anyone actually use this configuration? I know people have been playing with two independant srt lines, but this sounds ridiculous!:confused1:

What kind of mechanical device can be used on two legs of static rope at the same time?

Have they been reading up on industrial rope access?

It makes you wonder. Some of the contributors to the document seriously know their stuff, but comments like that put some doubt in my mind that they know much about this subject.

I should have said compared to DRT where you just float in the air.

Haha!

I conducted an experiment a couple of years back where I deliberately cut my line above my hitch on SRT and Ddrt.

I died in EXACTLY the same time both times!

Thanks for your selfless sacrifice, not once, but twice, to ensure others safety in this terribly confusing subject.

I thought that, but it's in the "work positioning" section, rather than "access"

I'll still use doubled petzl Ascensions and the rock exotica dualcender for the occasional footlock
