I would definitely choose the bag on the right, looks way more in it to me. I would also have expected the man on the street to choose it for the same reason. Its interesting that you say they choose the bag on the left. My guess is that the bag on the left sells best because its all neat and tidy. Most likely Mrs average won't like mucky logs, untidy kindling etc. An interesting experiment would be to have the same quantity of kindling in two bags, one all neatly stacked, one just thrown in. Wonder which would sell best?

Neat and tidy every time even with the price double the scruffy bag.

The thing is if the where available side by side and weight wasn't marked on them common sense would dictate you would probably pick up both bags and feel for a weight difference wouldn't you?

I certainly would but im tight as a badgers a*rse and check everything. Luckily the missus has stopped taking me food shopping as I keep looking at the little labels giving pence per 100 grams etc. Its amazing you can get a false sense of economy picking up the biggest bag or whatever feeling your getting it cheapest when you can be paying more 30% of the time over buying smaller.

the one on the right isn't sticks you would have trouble getting them going with a couple of sheets of paper if I was to bye sticks I would go for the one on the left

Good spot thanks for the comment. We have been selling the bag on the left for the same money as the sticks are a little bigger. I have never found loose filled kindling to sell very well to public or wholesale customers.

If your logs are seasoned why would you buy kindlers? We don't use them. A wee bit of firelighter and logs and that's it!

Sorry steve. 😞

I often light the fire twice a day. A pack of paraffin lighters lasts months as I am tight like bandit and snap them in half :001_smile:. A hand ful of sticks light it and walk away with no adjustment to stove never fails to light or burn out before I come back.

You sound like me when in the super market I am not interested in 30 % off or bogoffs. I want to know how much per 100g or 1000g. The stores bombard you with info red labels and deals so with in 10 minutes you have brain overload and just put things in the trolley zombie style. They know when they have you beaten when people buy 3 for £12 or £3 ea. also putting stuff in the trolley that goes out of date in the morning.
