I chopped end of my finger off years ago. Up a set of conifers. Cleaning trimmings off on top didnt realise timing was out on hedge trimmer. Painful. My boss at the time made me wrap it in a hanky and unload a turf wagon before he took me to a n e and left me there. Needless to say i didnt stay long after that

Was topping out a hedge years ago, walking along the top with the hedgy in front if me. Had a fast idle and as I dropped it onto the next part to be done it cut its way through and landed on my leg. Hurts way more than a chainsaw cut. Never had an incident yet though with the pole hedge trimmer.

We used to use electric clippers with a pull along generator. I was cutting a tall hawthorn hedge and as I swiped up I was covered in greenfly. I tried to wipe them off my face and the tip of the cutter swung round and nipped my thigh. I had trousers and overalls on and it didn't cut me but pinched a great black and purple V which throbbed for days.

People in general push the envelope far to often for the sake of completing a job to quickly and in turn unsafely. The results generally are accidents already spoken of.

Make the time to take the time and use common sense when it comes to any power equipment use. If your tired or stressed and working by yourself, slow down and get the job done on your schedule not with the customer breathing down your neck.

If you have help share the work and work as a team. Work as one and remember the equipment your using is very dangerous on a good day. No point pushing the envelope for bad results.
