Permit for collecting firewood

Few weeks ago i bumped into the top fc man for east anglia and the home counties in charge of just about everything and everybody at fc southern.

Both in the growing forest and after harvesting they now prefer to leave everything thats left on the ground for bugs and beasties,as he put it,except for experimental areas.

sounds like you want a horse and cart to get it out if they would allow that but it would have to be local

Hi all I get a gleaning permit from my local fc office in Lincolnshire cost me £63 for the year only hand saws allowed and u carry out what u cut really lucky as that have the local collage go in to do there chainsaw courses so plenty there any thing from 6'6 to 30 foot

 

So it looks like this FC permit ban isn't nationwide - despite what I've been told over here in Wales... All rather strange:confused1:
