Come to France, we've a 55m2 new build first floor appartment for 292euros per month and the child and housing benefit come to 480euros so for now we live for free!

Plus there is a national shortage of tree climbers which means business is...good.

I can't speak French :-(

£600 for a 2 bed semi! Jesus you're lucky... I pay £750 per month for a room and there's 6 of us in the house!!!

Hence why I can live on a wage that seems comparatively low. I live in one of the cheaper parts of England.

Don't tell my landlady how much you're paying, she may get ideas!

I'm sure you do get by just fine. You come across as a smart young man.

Easily done when you have spell check and time to think about your replies!

Id say , correction, i pay £150 a day thats if they are self employed, thats for a top groundy, or an ok climber , whats very important is a great understanding of wood, how it grows , tension wood, how it responds when cut, rigging, time management , safety, see where i am going ???

And a good, really good groundy is worth every penny .

That is why I've guys on 120 and others on 300+

Depends on experience, skill and productivity.

I supply the clients and the kit, the climber is my main tool after that.

Bang on, thats how really in this day and age it should be, the climber is as you say your tool, the best groundy you can pouch , steel , obtain is your second, not sure if i spelt pouch correctly , ?? a well grafted smooth running team is fantastic , if you have to spend 400 a day to make 500 a day , is that a bad thing ? thats complying with all uk ledg, we can all cut corners if we choose, but why , lets just do things how they should be done, not subsidised, and not cutting corners , we all know what things cost, how much is a spray tan ? how much is a pint ? some where the worth of qualified tree folk has been well and truly lost, but not with me. The client will pay.
