Yeah I know stubby, these hadn't been touched by the boys though. What do the use to put them on in the factory?

Mmm . Dunnow what they use in the factory . Agree with the modern lack of mechanical sympathy however . To be honest it irritates me no end ..snapping on the brake at every opportunity . I am a dinosaur I know but ......:001_smile:

Have to agree with you about the training these days , so do you think there is a problem in the factory with the way they fit the bearings ?

Read the attachment I posted a couple of hours ago (post #41).....

I've never been trained but I use the brake when I put the saw down running anywhere in case a branch catches the trigger or something. It's there for a reason I think not just an inconvenience. I don't apply it with the chain running though. Do new saws really wear out this quick ?

I don`t think that being able to understand the tools you`re using makes you a dinosaur.

I Was in the company of a recently trained guy just last month, when I eventually couldn`t take any more of the brake being flung on at full revs and tried to advise him otherwise, I was told that`s how he was taught and to mind my own business, little **** !!!

Anyway back to the thread, I can see how the method of assembly of these engines could easily leave a preloaded pressure on the bearings and it`s no surprise that the plastic is the first thing to suffer from the extra heat that could be generated by this.

Sorry, in my previous post I didn`t know the bearings were specials, sounds like crap design.

Is it autotune ? Cheers
