Crankcse, with crank,bearings and seals fitted, there is also one for the 562xp, it was more for the early saws with leaking case gasket, it now has an extra screw to support the gasket.

 

Reminds me of this service bulletin:

3 x 2014 560xp sitting here , one has a failed crank bearing 180 hours, barrel is scrap , second saw crank case is destroyed due to bolts coming loose, again barrel is scrap 162 hours , last one has 124 hours and has had piston damage and scrap barrel, ring retaining pin failed and crank bearings destroyed

 

A couple o boys at my work had a whole heap of problems with their 560s too after a few months. Seizures, bearings and even 2 clutches shearing right off the crank shaft. 👎

Clutches shearing off the crankshaft nut can be due to using an air gun to wind up the nut . Finger tight is all you need . First application of the brake will tighten it sufficiently .

I have watched the way people are trained today, the contant knocking on of the chain brake takes its toll on bearings and cranks, in an ideal world the saw will have come to rest before knocking the brake on, not constantly doing it before the revs have dropped, the bearings are of good quaility but i feel the issues have been the way they were fitted.

Yeah I know stubby, these hadn't been touched by the boys though. What do the use to put them on in the factory?

I am an old git and don't ever use the chain brake . ( the first saw I ever picked up did not have one ) Hence my 560 still has the original brake band with the slot in it . ( 2011 saw ) :biggrin:

Have to agree with you about the training these days , so do you think there is a problem in the factory with the way they fit the bearings ?

Man after my my own heart. Hate all this brake on brake off business and never use mine only to check it works now and again :blushing:

 

Ive never hidden the fact I don't like these 550/560 saws :001_tongue:
