i have just done my LDV tipper with a little chip box going from the back of the cab about 4 foot. see photo. I would like to be able to carry my ladders flat on the roof of this van.

How do you fix them as the light thingy will be a pain. Are there ladder racks out there for tippers - did a search and looked on ebay but no joy.

I knocked one up out of 2"x2" timber front and back, simple and works. Throw a strap over to secure.

A better version would be out of 2" L shapes angle iron so a ladder clamp could be added in too

Make something like a shelf bracket with 2 uprights as wide as your ladders and 2 tie down points on the uprights. Bolt to rear side of your van level with top. Make 2 uprights for up front to bolt to top. Or just looking at other tree surgeons website and see how they do it

Thanks for the ideas - will have a look at getting something done over the weekend. Think I need to reinforce my 12mm ply roof if I am having ladders on it :) It does not look sturdy enough at the mo haha
