Professional thieves would have all the bases covered anyway. Nicked/hired motor, photo ID, so you end up with a picture of someone that could have travelled hundreds of miles to scam you. Not a lot of use when trying to track your gear down! Each to their own, mind.

I used to rent a barn/yard when I did logs, the only person that ever came in that yard (apart from people i know)was a bloke that delivered me a compact tractor, I bought the tractor off a dealer in Kent he got a third party to deliver the tractor. Within a week the place was turned over........ I have no idea if it was that bloke or maybe someone he told!? It could just have been a coincidence of cause, but it made me wary!

Get them to meet you at a location 5 miles away from the yard.

Take their phones from them, make them wear a heavy cloth hood over their head and take them in your motor to the yard.
