I only cut wood for myself and use husky chaps. Everyone slags them but they are cheep and you can take them off once you have finished cutting. So not to get too hot in the summer. You can also use them with shorts on if its really hot.

I must admit I was cutting some firewood yesterday with just jeans and husqvarna forestry helmet and gloves.

I have a pair of Stihl Economy trousers and Hiax boots as well as Husqvarna gloves.

How essential are the boots and gloves?

Should I upgrade my trousers (and I would have worn them but couldn't locate them).

If you can justify doing with PPE away to your dependents, do it in your birthday suit, Personally, I've never made a cut without PPE and I never will.

It's not a question of your own arrogance/self belief/ignorance/whatever excuse you happen to be using today. The only question that matters to me is, how do I provide for my missus and 3 children in the months while the doctors are deciding if they need to amputate or not.

That's told me then, Bren.

I can see why you were named Bren, since you seem to enjoy shooting holes in people! :001_tt2:

Joking aside. You're right. I will make a bigger effort to kit up and stay alive.

Just need to slow down on the motorbikes and I'll be the perfect man!:laugh1:

Stay safe.

For you, and those who depend on you.
