What yard machine

what yard machine. We have got an old david brown tractor, cracking machine for its age but it's not really suited to light duties in the yard. Need something to power the splitter, move stuff around pallet forks bucket etc. Seen aMassey Ferguson 5455 with front loader would be useful on site on larger jobs.

I just got an old Coventry Climax from the local farm supplier. It's a bit old and a bit rough, but it was worked on before it came out to me (new hoses, couple of new bearings, serviced, battery, few other bits and bobs) and didn't cost much. Says it will lift 2.5t, but it's already lifted 3.5t.

The height of the mast would be an issue for getting in the sheds I think. Dilemma I have is do I get a telehandler that is great at lifting and moving but not much else, or a tractor that can do a lot more.

Handler and tractor are totally different, do you need too load bulkers or stack stuff heigh? If not then yes a tractor would possibly be more useful.

Nice old Ford that, what model is it dan?

 

I run a splitter of an old layland tractor and use the sandie for loading,stacking etc think I'm going to chop it in for a telehandler though as it will load bulkers but not the bio mass ones as there taller.
