Can't seem to push the decomp valve in.

Got the plug out

My fault I broke it but found another, so checked for a spark, it's got one. Replaced the plug, little bit of aspen into the carb pulled it over an I'm sure it fired but couldn't fire it again.

Went back to it this morning put some fuel in the tank gave it a few pulls it coughed, few more, big cloud of smoke and it fired up! Revved up ok but I think it should have been harder to pull over is this a lack of compression? Is it worth getting it tested?

Good choice of fuel, Thank you to everyone who is now on Aspen!

What he said as the disc cutter won't have an oil pump fitted from stock, did you split the crankcase and fit one ?

Usually the old Stihl disc cutters were assembled with full chainsaw parts and changed over in the factory, usually at most they removed the pinion gear

Out of interest, have you checked to see if the saw is oiling the chain?

Hi eddy,

Yes I did check, I looked to see if the oil pump was there and it was. I started the saw with no bar and chain and oil pumped out of the side. I mounted the bar and chain and checked again and it's all good! Lucky I guess!
