Base costs + additional travel costs + profit + bs tax = price

Base costs - fuel for machines, purchase and running costs of machines over 3 - 5 years, insurance, vehicle costs, wages, business accountancy etc - all broken down to per hour and then up to an 7/8 hour day. (Basically anything that's going to cost you money)

Additional travel - outside of X area should have Y amount per mile added to cover your time, wear & tear and fuel

Profit - its a dirty word but you are in business, make some money cos that's what its all about, but don't go excessive as someone will always be cheaper.

BS tax - if its a shitty job, bad access, lots of effort or the client smells funny then add a bit here. If your doing a job for practically nowt then you won't want to be there doing it, add a little.

Work it from the bottom up and dont be greedy, if you win every job then you are too cheap! It really only comes with experience to be on the money, we all mess up occasionally but mostly I get it bang on!

Enjoy
