They tried again last night!! They still didn't get anything but they've caused a fair bit of damage trying! The police are useless they don't care!!

Is the premises isolated? If not, I'd be lighting it up like a Christmas tree and installing alarms and sirens to wake the dead. I think all you can do is make it so difficult and risky, that they just look for a softer target.

Btgaz is on the money, you obviously have good security, but you must up your game,I would be looking at cameras to id a vehicle and the perps, sod the police if they are not interested, just try to ping the scum yourself.

We had a lad knocking about last week. waiting for a MOT in the unit next door. A scally, with eyes everywhere. He wanted to bid us on a astra van, wouldn't take no for an answer.

 

Finally I called one of the dogs out, all Harley wants is a fuss but runs round and is a bit boisterous. The lad asked if he was alright, but we played up how nasty the dog is and said that he was the least aggressive of the three. Our lads bigged it up something rotten, suggesting that the dogs roam free all night.

 

Every time the travelling community come visiting the complex, I make time to walk the dogs, just to let them know they're there.

The first time we got turned over 8 years ago I made a suggestion to the police officer who came to visit that I'd install a poacher alarm (the type used by gamekeepers that fire blanks) to scare the w*****s off who've just broken in.

 

The officer then informed me that if I did that, and the bugger breaking in subsequently had a heart attack and died, I’d be responsible for his death and I'd be in front of the judge..............

 

Best bet would be not to use blanks and have a deep hole available......

I know I've said it before, but I still keep a large selection of large fishing treble hooks hanging from the ceiling of my workshop (to dry out after a fishing trip). They seem to dry best at face height and have given me positive results in the past and are almost impossible to spot in the dark.
