I take it you do not have to retune a saw once the spark screen is removed ?

Hi,

The only time a spark screen will affect you engine is when it starts to block up and restrict exhaust flow.

Many dealers and I used to do it take them out when the machine is new because of the old type and low grade oils used it was a safe bet it would block up.

With the use of a clean burning fuel and the new extra low soot oil in Aspen2 FRT there is no need to remove it.

A retune might be needed if someone has tried to compensate for the restriction in the exhaust by adjusting the carb.

Are the Sparks caused from the carbon deposits? If so, if a saw is run on aspen from day one, there will be no carbon deposits, therefore won't even need a spark screen? Would I be correct in thinking like that?

My aspen saws definitely blow sparks. I'm noticing it more now it's getting dark earlier/not really getting light some days
