Hedge Laying Courses

I'm just wondering if anyone did a hedge laying course prior to laying a hedge? I'm looking to offer the service as part of my wildlife management business but wondered if there were any recommended courses?

 

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Depends where you are. I did some training with the Devon Rural Skills Trust. Very high standards, and also some volunteering for the local wildlife trust. Good luck.

I'm already a member, cheers! There was a course listed on there a couple of weeks back but it was in Bedfordshire which is a little too far to travel. I've just noticed Philip Rowell is holding some courses in Barnsley which isn't too far from me.

 

Has anyone done one of his courses?

 

I did contact a place near York but I've not heard anything back from them.

Did some laying on the farm and got fed up with passing farmers taking the pee and saying "you don't want to do it like that" Did a course same as Jimmay with Lynher training. Now at least when someone takes the pee I can say "thats how they teach it now"

I used to get that when trapping moles, until they saw how many I was pulling out, now they just ask me to do their fields

Find if theres any local contests going on go along and then quiz who's there , there might be plenty going on but until you start mixing you never seem to find out, not forgetting the different styles/areas, sure someone will be able to help good luck
