How the bloody hell do I manage storage on an iPad? I keep getting a message saying "manage storage" in settings. I've deleted loads of apps, photos and messages, but Ive still got no bytes available.

 

Help, please.

Check the music, if you have loads of music on there, you may have to delete some. You can see how much space it's using. Not sure how, but it's quite easy. I found that music was the biggest culprit for taking space.

Have you got loads of photos and music? If so , try only having the music loaded you're going to listen to in a few days. Transfer photos to PC/Mac.

Go to "settings", "general", "about"

 

In there you'll be able to see what's using memory

 

I've deleted some of the biggest users of memory and still ain't got enough space to download the iOS update.

There's something not quite right there. You got any memory hungry games hanging around. By the way, how much is the stated total storage of your pad; and how big is the stated update?

No games. Please remeber that you are speaking to one of technology's most inept!:biggrin:

 

If I'm reading you correctly, it's 16gb, 12.3gb are used and the update is 1.3gb.

Hi EGGS HOW MANY GB yours mate it's same on my iPhone 16gb no good as the iOS 8 use 5gb 😭😭😭😭thanks Jon
