Retrieving rigging line

There was a post on here ages about where someone had put a throwline in a tape measure and attached a ring to it so they could retrieve the rigging line easier. does anyone know what the thread was called.

 

Ive been trying to think of ways of retrieiving the rigging line, i know you can use the end of your climbing line but sometimes it can be a right pain.

 

Anyone thought of carrying like a small pouch with like a 8mm line in it with a biner on the end so that you can clip it to the rigging line let it run out when you rig off something then retrieve it once done and stuff the line back into the bag?
