Lucky, we have tree officers dealing only with north Yorkshire schools.and only 3 authorised companies covering it. Private schools are different and i work for a few quit regularly.

Think you will find quite a few n yorks schools are also self funding as I have done work in Harrogate and Skipton schools.

Hi all where's best place to look for small contracts, just after a small contract or two to get the business going a bit more! :)

Yeah, okay, so I'm bound to say it but you could consider going ARB Approved. This would both give you an additional 'something' to approach people with, i.e. we've recently achieved a recognised industry approval status (which is also registered with SSiP of course :001_rolleyes:), and yeah you'll doubtless have to explain what's involved but it can pay dividends.

Also, anecdotally, I've certainly noticed a shift in awareness of, and direction to, the scheme by Local Authorities and the like, e.g. National Trust / Environment Agency / Forestry Commission, albeit with some regional variation.

Just a thought, not gonna "bang on"...HONIST , but give us a bell 01242 522152 / 07971 995351 ([email protected]) if you wanna know more.

Cheers..

Paul

Oh yeah, n you can access both the CHAS (commercial) and Trustmark (domestic) schemes once you're fully ARB Approved to..."win, win....win."

Also look at getting on Construction Line. It'll be more ground work prior to development but a useful place to start for contracts. Local Authorities are now using them more for their work on large schemes and this could help in getting more contracts.

Becoming AA approved is also very useful, again most large companies/LA will require this.

Look out for Management Agents (companies that look after company buildings/flats etc), they will push for a low price but can be useful as they will be in the local area.
