got me an 084 with a duff piston, cylinder looks ok. any clues on where to get a meteor piston? i search of the web didn't come up with much. are they the same as early 880 and 088?

have stihl completely discontinued parts for these or only some bits?

I have a 084 parts saw with a new in box genuine top end and piston that I may be interested in parting with, just need to source two bottom end bearings and it would be a cracking saw, or if you just wanted the entire top end drop me a pm

Regards

I recall that there are no aftermarket options available, pots or pistons and are no longer supported by stihl, that's why never buy a 084. Hopefully you didn't!!

sure did! sigh. but it was cheap and had a 36'' bar and newish chain which i needed anyway.....why did they stop making parts?loosers.

does a 088 piston fit?

Ive never known of any aftermarket 084 piston/top ends.

They where still available thru main deal about £90 and nearly £400 a time last year.

Im pretty sure the 880 piston isn't the same.

The other short supply item with the is the starter assembly, if ever you find one snap it up for a spare.
