Prob a good set of bolt cutters, failing that an angle grinder but watch it dont heat up any metal bits that arent getting removed :001_smile:

There is a thread about snap hooks somewhere apparently some inspectors will fail them some wont!

I have a wire strop, with a snap hook on it, it came with the paperwork with it as required by loler, now surely the manufacturer wouldnt send this out if it was likely to fail the tests,

what type of snap hooks are we talking about though, mine is like this one, and i cant see how it fails the requirements? :confused1:

Some LOLER inspectors will fail the snap hooks because they only have two distinct movements to open them, and not three.

It is a bit of a grey area, but I was advised that they should pass an inspection as they are used for work positioning, but we all rely on our strops only at change overs.

A LOLER inspector will not care if you have removed the hook, just as long you have caused no damage to the strop and documented the change in your interim inspection.

definitely on a wire core flip line that has been manufactured with a snap hook will pass any loler as long as it,s in good working order

If anyone tells you otherwise you have 2 options

1 dont use them as they competent

2 ask for there details and ask them to contact me and i will sort it out with them

p.s thats not how you spell stupid:001_tongue:
