think thats about it,,Ive tried both, and not a lot in it,,,,had three snap this week on maple which is rock hard...

Much the same here. I run mostly Ripper 37s, which are fine, but also have 5 Woodmizer bands, which are also fine. Whether they cut well or not is entirely determined by the person who sharpened them!

Just a little note, we used to go through loads of blades due to snapping, the one single way we stopped this is by letting them rest once one has been used we cool it up and don't to uh it for at least 24hrs before we then set and sharpen. Haven't had any snap on us in a long while and as said earlier the only thing we can moan about is how sharp they are, but that's done in house lol

Further update on the performance of the bandsaw blades:

The batches that I have are starting to get to the end of their working lives, with some of them snapping. I'm finding that overall the Woodmizer Silvertip bands are performing best, which comes as a surprise to both myself and Woodmizer, as they are a far cheaper band than the Ripper 37s. I've had 5 sharpens out of some of them, as well as resetting. I am pretty meticulous with my timber preparation (pressure washing every log) but nevertheless impressive. Given that they cost only about 70% of what the Ripper 37s come in at, I'd recommend them.
