Hard to say, guess it depends on workload, distances & type of work undertaken. We (just) manage to make do with a couple of 4x4s, one with large 4 wheel trailer, the other with a small chipper on trailer. Good luck if you're looking at tippers, went to see several Transits on Auto trader & all turned out to be rubbish,:thumbdown: hence us making do...for now.

for what its worth....

After many combinations over the years I am back to a single cab Transit with tool locker and alloy body, its a single wheeler. I can legally carry 1 ton.

I am half way through building my own arb tipping body on a chassis cab twin wheeler using a steel frame and alloy plank body.
