Hard time selling logs

Having a quality product is all well and good but some people cant afford the best firewood, they will go for the cheaper option, as we all do , we dont eat quailes eggs and caviar everyday do we, no we eat cheaper options that we can get in the local supermarket,,, its

exactly the same scenario,

 

Yes agree with that thats why I offer softwood as well

£75 hardwoods £50 softwoods Available all year round.

Your charging to little for that amount of firewood if it was thrown I would want 140. Have you advertised? How much do you have? When it gets cold it will sell if I was you I would save it till it's real cold then charge 150 a crate.

 

I can guarantee that if i advertise them at £140 around here i will still have them sat in the yard at the end of the winter.

Go at least £100 then. People these days are prepared to pay for quality, and good hard wood logs are worth way more then what you are asking and in the volume you are selling them at. If you start of cheap that's were you will stay.no matter how good your product is.

The time it takes us to split a cage + fuel etc i thought i was making a decent bit. Problem is i can easily price myself out of the market, the dearest i have seen them sold at is £80 a cube. if your selling wood in an already saturated area holding high prices no matter how good the product is surely means your wasting your time?

 

I know this isn't very helpful but if the market was already saturated why did you go into it? Do you get the wood for nowt? if so then there might still be a margin albeit a slim one

There's 1.8 loose logs in a stacked ibc container anything under 100 a loose cube your mugging your self. I've got lads doing it round here on the side charging 60 a cube people still come to me at twice the price because I have a consistently constant supply of hardwood. Facebook is really bringing in custom at the moment half cube bags at £60 quid they love it
