Has anyone tried those Dremel chainsaw attachments? They seem to get mixed reviews but at least you can run them at a slow speed.

If you drop the voltage the amps increase and so does the heat in the motor so may be worth keeping an eye on how hot the motor is especially if having a chain sharpening fest.

 

I was dropping it down to 2/3rds speed with no signs of any issues, the sharpener was a 20 special so not too bothered if it blows but it helps a lot to control the cut,

 

I am pretty light on cuts anyway, making sure the motor stays on speed and nt bogging!

Hi paul, i use them occasionally to sharpen my chains, i find them handy to have. I have just started another thread about the quality of the stones dont seem to be very good.

Find it works pretty good, in fact it's as near new sharpness as I have ever got.

My only concern is that the thumb dial on top, seems as if it can shift; but maybe it doesn't? I just found that when I get back to the teeth I started with, it takes off more. I would have thought it shouldn't.

 

Not a cheap tool, but I like its simplicity.

 

Hi are you still using the timberline ? As you say it's not cheap and wondered how your getting on with it a year down the line
