Cheers, will look into that.

 

 

I was convinced that it was fuel related, changed fuel filter, rebuilt the carb, checked breather and impulse hose and then went deeper looking at piston condition etc and a mate that fixes motorbikes suggested the ignition module. Luckily I knew someone that had the same saw so I tried his module in the saw and bingo it worked 100%. It would idle fine, start a cut and then die.

I'm not saying it's defiantly the same problem with yours but if you run out of ideas it's worth a try .

Filter a bit dirty, gave it a clean and tried, cut first log or two no probs then back to bogging down:(. Seems to start doing this as soon as it warms up.

 

Thats a sign of low comp . May be due to a partial seizure or worn bore and rings .

If I pick it up by pull cord it takes about 15 secs to drop to end of cord and obviously a lot quicker when decomp button is in!
