Just wondering what different methods/tools people use to unblock the drum when something gets stuck in there.

it's not a common occurrence but when it happens it can be a real pain. Everything I use to try and turn the drum just bends or snaps........Had to take the whole cassette out today to clear a small but of wood. 😫

I use a big screwdriver to turn the drum just take the side case of and you should see a hole you can put the driver in. You might need to slacken the belts of as it helps them turn easier

I make certain that the infeed chute is completely empty before shutting down. I use a broom that is a little wider than the drum, which allows me to clean the chute as well as pushing down bramble and such down to the drum.

Never had anything stuck, luckily.

i use a mini lever bar .. with a steel tube.. works perfect every time and even when its proper jammed with the metal tube it makes turning the drum easy :). but yeah this issue with it is the only down side to the chipper :/. other wise it would be amazing,

When i had mine, would lay it flat on the floor and crawl in!

i have done this too. I always inspect the infeed chute as a lollypop stick is enuf to block up the drum and prevent starting, usually i use the blower to clear the chute prior to cycling down the engine.

Good suggestions for the blower.

I also use a snapped plastic rake that is just too wide to push stuff down with.

I've bent/broken countless items including screwdrivers trying to turn that drum but didn't think to slacken the bells tho

prolinep- Can you get a pic of your mini lever bar and tube, that's exactly what I'm after.
