Just got back from a stint working down in Devon.

Whilst cutting Holly on Dartmoor (Some of the biggest I've ever seen, had to get the 372 out for one) My 346 suddenly made a horrible rattling noise and stopped. An examination showed that the ground electrode on the spark plug had snapped off. Never come across this before, have any of you? I'm thinking that a bearing went and allowed the piston to hit the plug. Going to have to get a 550xp now, as even if the saw can be repaired it won't be ready in time for my next contract in Berkshire. Gutted I love 346's and won't find another one now (not new anyway).

Can't believe my luck.

Just had a call from Doe's. They've opened her up and there is no damage at all. New gasket, new plug and she's good to go.

Couldn't help buying a 550 though.

Ok thats good . Now you got a 550 you could send the 346 off to spud for porting . He did mine a few years ago and its still going strong on a 15" full chiz driven by an 8 pin . Thats why I don't need a 550 !
