Non protective Jackets

Hi,

 

Give we are coming to the winter we have been thinking about waterproof gear that is suitable for tree work. Can anyone recommend a non protective waterproof jacket for use at least on the ground, but ideally which is ergonomic enough to use in the tree as well. We were not necessarily looking for something with chainsaw protection, but all suggestions considered!

The best non -protective waterproof jacket I have is the Clark cut and climb jacket. Click on the side banner for a link to their site. It's a very good jacket and actually keeps you dry!!

you could try a cycling jacket , long at the back and pretty waterproof , mine is made by mountain warehouse

Cut and climb or stein seem to work quite well ... Army surplus goretex trousers keep the belows dry pretty well ...

I have a Harkie smock which is ok, but not great:thumbdown:

 

The trousers are ok for the money but seldom wear them in the tree.

 

My gripes with the smock are;

 

• Sleves too short
  
• Not as breathable as they claim
  
• Once dirty, it wont clean up nice anymore
  
• Not as breathable as they claim
  

 

Should of gone to Clarkes!

Just acquired a couple of ambulance service ogre text jackets, really hard wearing and great for groundwork. They would be terrible for climbing, have a look on ebay for them.
