Husqvarna buying out Stihl?! I've heard it all now. Ridiculous nonsense.

 

 

So one company would turn down billions so the other company (with superior emissions tech) could provide continuation of the brand upon purchase? Despite the companies purchased by husky still continuing to design and produce saws, of which are used by all the other companies (see 543xp, 236 and quite a few other huskies)

Stihl still is a privately owned company isn't it, not one you can buy shares in on the open market?

 

 

I would be surprised if you couldn't buy a share or stake of a company as a silent share holder, especially if you had something of value to offer

Used a Stihl MS261c for a while this week, wasn't so impressed. Seemed to be struggling with some smallish Beech - maybe the chain isn't so sharp after all? - Sharpened it to a razors edge, cut better but still lacking some thrust into the tree. Will probably look at other saws.
