It was the insurance thing that has put me off aswell mate. Maybe get people to sign a disclaimer?:confused1:

:scared1: Disclaimers CANNOT remove your responsibility to protect people from harm!!!!

They are fine for property, IE if a wind blown tree is on a house, you can get them to sign to say you are not responsible for any damage to the property caused by removing the tree.

But if some one signed to say you could punch them in the face, YOU could still be prosecuted you for assault.

In conjunction with one of my clients I am thinking of setting up a corporate/ kids climbing workshop. Any hints tips ideas welcome. Tree is a huge Turkey oak and we may use it as an educational tool as well (lessons on biology etc in the tree!).

Any thoughts on equipment needed, to protect the tree, games or challenges whilst in the tree and legal stuff greatly appreciated. It is drawing board stage at the moment.

Off to work now but will be on tonight.

Me mate PPaul is doing this an getting results, pm me for his details,

I've been looking for a suitable harness for my 5 year old stepson, and have thought full harness might be good. DMM and Petzl do them. What looks better is the New Tribe kids harness, not a full harness, but well padded and in use at a few other experience/workshop venues.

There is a place in Cornwall that does the kind of courses you are referring to and it might be worth checking them out regarding techniques/insurance.

Mighty Oak - tree climbing in cornwall

good luck
