horse chestnut any good for milling?

have a large lump of horse chestnut if anyone wants it let me know ,bottom log on the trailer.can load but you collect.highest offer gets it, top log a bit rotten and knotty!!jake

Don't know about milling but a local guy took a piece off me whilst felling one day and turned this.....

 

 

 

Did the crane struggle with those pieces?

oh good i will have a 200 piece dinner service then , no the crane didnt struggle at all .just had to swing it to the side and use the manitou(it struggled a wee bit)jake:laugh1:

Can you let me know rough dimensions? Any idea of weight?

as a guess ... will check out tomorrow.. 12 foot long and about 30 inch diameter. weight about 2,5 ton.jake..thats the bottom log top one no good really had a broken top and plenty of rot and scar tissue. there is some shake in log too , but not too severe.jake
