slight hijack but a mate is selling an old 266 to upgrade to a newer saw and is torn between a 365 and 372.

both for firewood duties and a little felling.

so opinions?

If it is the Xtorq, get the 365 and modify the transfer covers, if it is the XP, the 372XP is best - same weight give or take but more go and power on the 372XP!

thanks spud, not sure any modification would be good for warranty on new saw, my oops. the 365 is x torq. 372 is xp. would be 18 inch bar on either.

he ideally wants a nice simple saw, no auto tune etc. no tool less chain tensioners, just something with plenty of grunt for firewood, sometimes small sticks and others the full 18 inches and more.

i dont want to influence him but get a wider opinion, however if it was my choice i would go for 372 as i love mine.

The 365 and 372 x torq models are exactly the same saw (same 70cc engine) apart from the transfer covers as Spud rightly says. That's the only difference. Tell him to save £130 or whatever the difference is now and buy the 365 then at a later date when hes happy or the warranty is out modify the transfer covers to turn it into the 372 or just buy 372 transfer covers.
