I was gonna say - there's likely a reason they are the same...

It's a well known fact, and Stihl don't deny it, I believe it may be added to the 880 soon, judging by the advert tag in my local dealer today, and heated handles! Or Stihl may have sent a tag with a typo, but it had no mention of 2-mix

And there ends the first lesson on autotune carbs, great when they run but not to great when they don't

Steve . Do you think it would be possible to fit a non A/T carb to say ...a 560 ? Drill the appropriate holes in the top cover for the H , L , and T screws ?

Anything is possible, you would need to modify linkages etc, one of the big problems would be the transfer tubes and their connection and the other is how the autotune adjusts ignition timing and idle speed, it would be quite a project finding a coil to fit and get the timing set correctly.

A big project I would say having just converted my 066 red eye to another coil!

Well, they are zama carbs... Something known for a faulty design

Yep, I don't think it was a good Idea to leave the design of a new kind of carb to Zama.

I assume you know who currently owns Zama, not that I will suggest that has anything to do with it....:sneaky2:
