Rebuilding old chipper thats been asleep in a field!

Good on you for having a go! One reason why she went to sleep in a field may he that as she no longer complies with HSE regs for chippers and was too costly to have put right. Look into infeed chute length and operation, especially the control bar. Good luck with your project, give us regular updates!

thanks to my mechanic going AWOL this is now for sale on ebay,

 

he just never turned up one day, left all his tools in my shed, been months now, no one has seen him, very odd, and cant find anyone else within my budget to complete it

 

not sure what the rules are but is anyone interested?

I cant help thinking you may have blown your dough on this

 

Your ebay advert says you want a grand minimum. I cant help thinking its not much more than a pile of used parts and that's a lot of money for an old machine in that state.

 

Its old, its got major non conforming modifications, and it is going to needs a fair bit of time and money to get it HSE compliant

 

Let it run its course on ebay and take whatever you can get

I think as its been pretty much taken apart and all moving parts/engine either replaced or serviced/fixed, a grand is about right, although its on ebay starting at 99p so we will see what happens

 

Sounds like you have mostly fixed the engine, rather than the chipper, I'm not sure anyone will be that interested in the engine.
