Surely things can't have been that bad! Where do you think you were going wrong?

We were paying for cord and selling in a wealthy area where the cost of logs is on the floor.

150 tonne or 500 tonne u still need a processor and a tractor. 6 tonnes and old chainsaw and a vertical splitter I purchased 10 years ago straight into profit.

We peaked at 450 tonne and can remember thinking that was the hardest 20k I ever earned.

I dont regret giving it up its a hard way to earn a living respect to those still giving it a go.

Wow, enough said!

They say you will never make a fortune working with your hands.

To make money from Firewood it needs to be un-touched by human hand - well almost.

I don't no why but I really enjoy doing it and it fits better with my family commitments. I hear people saying that there is a lot of outlay for little return but compare it to a hedge cutting contractor who has a 50k tractor with a 25k flail charging £25.00 an hour the figures look quite good.

The market around us is strong and I could sell as much as I can get.
