oh yes log deck too.i do 75%hard to 25 soft

trying to boost soft as hard is getting too expensive and rare.plus softwood flies through machine

No expense spared then.

 

Bet you didn't like the banging with the Posch on that Larger hardwood, apparently it does no harm.

 

We should all be burning more softwood of course.

I don't no why but I really enjoy doing it and it fits better with my family commitments. I hear people saying that there is a lot of outlay for little return but compare it to a hedge cutting contractor who has a 50k tractor with a 25k flail charging £25.00 an hour the figures look quite good.

The market around us is strong and I could sell as much as I can get.

 

I used to enjoy the work but now get my wood fix from producing kindling. For every £100 charged we seem to be left with £20 for wages. Considering the labour and time involved 10k did not seem like much for a 50k turnover.

Probably 13 this year down from about 22 last. All chainsawed and split with fiskars x27.

Not had the opportunity nor the tree work as much in the last year.

Have turned a bit if work away due to other work commitments.

We enjoy firewood.

To make money from Firewood it needs to be un-touched by human hand - well almost.

 

I reckon so. Harvester >Forwarder>Lorry>Yard>Loader>Log Deck>Processor>Tipping Delivery Truck.
