Not necessarily, his bid was never accepted (as it was not enough more than the winner to qualify), the winning bid was just £1 more than another bid.

 

I have this discussion continually with my wife she say "darn if we had just bid a £1 more we would have won it"

If there were only 2 bidders eagleyes bid would have gone though, it didn't.

I enjoy a good debate even about pretty pointless things

 

The unbelievable bit was just that I've had this discussion repeatedly with people who say they missed items on ebay by just one bid, but in reality most times you have no way of know how much you actually missed it by.
